Robert Shields

Analyst, Trade and Investment

Robert Shields supports ITTA's clients on a wide range of issues involving US trade and investment policy. His portfolio includes US trade agreements, investment policy and treaties, trade enforcement litigation, export control reform, and sanctions. Mr. Shields also reports on US economic and strategic interests in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as issues related to US science and technology policy.

Prior to joining ITTA, Mr. Shields worked as a program assistant for the George Washington University’s National Security Studies Program. He has also worked as a Legal Assistant specializing in government contracts at a DC-based law firm. Mr. Shields received his MA in Security Policy Studies at the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs. He also holds a BA in Political Science and Economics from the University of Notre Dame.
